Dr. Yasser Al-Doukhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, stated that the selection of the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, as the headquarters of the Arab Cycling Federation was no coincidence. He explained that the decision was based on Sharjah’s advanced infrastructure and its rapidly growing sports culture.
Al-Doukhi extended his highest appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, following the issuance of his decision to establish the Sharjah Cycling Club. Al-Doukhi added that the establishment of a specialized cycling club represents a significant addition to Sharjah’s sports sector and will play a key role in promoting cycling at the local, Arab, and international levels.
Emphasizing the broader value of the sport, Al-Doukhi said: “Cycling is not merely a competition or a championship; it is a healthy lifestyle that promotes physical fitness, raises environmental awareness, and reinforces the values of activity, commitment, and discipline.”
He added that the Arab Cycling Federation views the new club as a promising platform for discovering and developing talent, expanding participation, and contributing to the overall advancement of cycling across the Arab world. He reaffirmed the Federation’s full support for all initiatives aimed at advancing the sport and expressed its commitment to working closely with the Sharjah Cycling Club to achieve shared objectives that serve Arab sports and enhance their presence on the international stage.
