The Syrian Arab Republic witnessed the organization of a cycling event, with the participation of more than 500 male and female cyclists from various Syrian cities, held to mark the first anniversary of liberation in a sporting and national occasion.
The cycling event began in the city of Idlib, passing through Aleppo, Hama, and Homs, before concluding at Umayyad Square in the Syrian capital, Damascus. Participants raised national flags, highlighting the role of sport in conveying positive messages and building bridges of communication among the people of Syrian cities.
His Excellency Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, commended the cycling event as a commendable initiative, affirming that it represents a model use of sport to express pride in national achievements and to reinforce the values of peace and fraternity. He noted that cycling has become an important platform for fostering community cohesion and strengthening Arab sporting presence.
