Sharjah celebrates the Arab Bicycle Day.

In celebration of Arab Cycling Day, observed annually on 30 October, the Sharjah Sports Council organized a special event represented by the Khorfakkan Cycling Pull Challenge, with the participation of more than 200 male and female competitors, in cooperation with several sponsoring and supporting entities and institutions.

 

The race, which covered a distance of 27 kilometers, witnessed strong competition among participants across various categories.
In the Men’s Citizens Category, Yousef Amiri claimed first place, followed by Rashed Al Bloushi in second and Hilal Al Harbi in third.
In the Women’s Citizens Category, Marwa Al Qahwar finished first, followed by Hala Mohammed in second place and Noura Al Ghafli in third.

 

 

In the Men’s Open Category, Kirill Mailer secured first place, with Ibrahim Al Rifai finishing second and Salman Al Mansouri third.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s Open Category, Madi Balak took first place, followed by Isabella Darby in second and Masha Pikovskaya in third.

 

The event was attended by, and the winners were crowned by, His Excellency Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation; His Excellency Mansour Buasaiba, President of the UAE Cycling Federation and member of the Arab Cycling Federation’s Board of Directors; and His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Imam, Secretary General of the Arab Cycling Federation and President of the Sudanese Cycling Federation.

Dr. Yasser Al-Doukhi expressed his deep appreciation to the United Arab Emirates, particularly the Emirate of Sharjah, for its continuous support in developing the sport of cycling. He also commended the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council in organizing this distinguished event, which reflects the emirate’s commitment to promoting cycling culture and raising awareness of its sporting and environmental importance.
